Magnetic switches from ASA Schalttechnik
    Round design

From standard switchgear to custom-made products: ASA magnetic switches are used in all areas of mechanical and plant engineering - especially for monitoring, positioning and controlling lifting and rotary movements. With particular success in apparatus engineering for control and counting tasks.

ASA magnetic switches are designed in accordance with the IEC/EN 60947-5-1 standard. The high protection class IP 67 in accordance with IEC/EN 60529 offers sufficient safety and protection against dirt, gases and moisture. Even vibrations make little difference. Added to this are low contact resistances, a wide range of contact functions and switching capacities as well as a high switching frequency - for virtually unlimited application possibilities.

    Contact protection measures

Reed contacts are sensitive to overloads. Exceeding the maximum permissible current values or high voltage peaks - as occur when switching capacitive or inductive loads - can lead to severe damage to the reed contacts. There is no all-encompassing protection against this. However, depending on the load to be switched, premature failure of the reed contacts can be avoided. Here are some examples of protective circuits for different types of load:

When light bulbs, capacitors or other loads connected to long supply lines (cable capacitance) are switched on, high current surges occur. These can cause serious damage, even welding of the contacts. The current surge can be largely reduced by a limiting resistor in series with the reed contact. This ensures reliable protection and extends the service life of the reed contact many times over.
